A seven-year-old boy called Andrev learns that his dad isn\u2019t his real dad. His real dad lives in a country far away and has hair down to his shoulders. \u201cLike an Indian,\u201d says his mum, gesturing towards her elbow so that the boy will understand. The boy\u2019s heart races because it\u2019s the best news he\u2019s ever heard. It feels as though he\u2019s the boy in a book about a boy who finds out that his dad is king of a magical land and that a spirit is coming to take him there.
