Several new pieces of legislation are due to come into force, and by 2028 a producer responsibility scheme for textiles is to be in place. The aim of producer responsibility is to establish a functioning system for collection, reuse and recycling, so that more material is kept in circulation and less is sent for incineration.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During a breakfast meeting, we will discuss and analyse how the new producer responsibility scheme will affect the textile value chain and these stakeholders. The textile ecosystem comprising second-hand businesses, designers, remake operators and other circular economy enterprises that demand reused textiles as raw materials for new products and services is growing.
