Join us for the launch of the first solo exhibition in Sweden of Scottish artist John Atherton.
Nostalgia of Distance launches at the Nordic Art Agency on Thursday March 23rd and is a body of work developed through John Atherton’s abstract portraits. A series of Swedish school year books are the catalyst behind the work, evolving into a layered landscape of screen printing, paper and paint. The landscapes could be interpreted as the landscapes of life and the evolution of experience.
Originally from Scotland John Atherton studied Graphic Design at The Glasgow School of Art. He lived and worked in London as a screen printer, designer, curator and assistant to international artists before attending The Royal College of Art from 2017 till 2019. After graduating he was selected for both the Clifford Chance Purchase Prize, and Travers Smith, CSR Art Programme.
Twenty new works will be exhibited in this latest exhibition and we invite you to join the artist for art, drinks and conversation at the gallery.
