The famous Argentinian multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer and music producer, Gustavo Santaolalla, is gearing up for an exciting tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his signature album "RONROCO". On Friday 14 November, he will take the stage at the Slaghuset Theatre!
Having won two Oscars for Best Original Score for his work on 'Brokeback Mountain' and 'Babel' respectively, Santaolalla has showcased his unique talent for creating compositions that evoke deep emotion and resonate with audiences. With two Grammys, 19 Latin Grammys, 2 BAFTAs and 1 Golden Globe to his name, his artistic journey stands as a testament to his unrivalled influence and talent.
The album "RONROCO", which marked a defining moment in his career, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. This project not only introduced the Bolivian instrument ronroco to the world, but also showcased Santaolalla's magnificent musicality through collaborations with prominent international film directors. From his feature in 'The Insider' (1999, Michael Mann) to his collaborations with Alejandro González Iñárritu in 'Babel' and Walter Salles in 'The Motorcycle Diaries' (2004), 'RONROCO' has played a crucial role in cinematic storytelling.
Santaolalla presents "RONROCO" live for the first time, along with a selection of other iconic compositions by Santaolalla.
