He's been called one of the best, a fantastic raconteur and so skilful that it's impossible not to love his stand-up. Now, audience favourite Carl Stanley celebrates ten years as a stand-up comedian with the solo show "Excuse my Scanian". It will be a stand-up show with humour from the heart, about deer, children, jeans, marriage, a theft and becoming an adult for real. "Ursäkta Min Skånska" premiered at Lund City Theatre on 28 February 2025 and now it is clear that the tour will be extended in 2026 with several extra performances and on 9 April he will take over Slagthusets Teater!
What has it been like to make the show?
-I feel like I'm on tour with the best show I've written so far, and it's been a great feeling. The audience reactions during and after the performances have been stronger than before. I often remind myself that the audience has given me an evening and that it's important to treasure it. So when I feel like I have succeeded, I am happy, says Carl.
What does it give you to be on stage night after night?
-Being on stage night after night gives me the opportunity to improve the performance and have a strong relationship with the material. This is the end of the process of performing what I've worked on, and I want to be as focused as I can and try to make sure I deliver every night. It's special to see people laughing all over the country and to really feel like we're hanging out, even though we don't really know each other, says Carl.
