Sissela Kyle's newly written and highly personal "My idea of mum" is praised in the press. Göteborgs-Posten said that "Sissela Kyle is brilliant about women's lives and conditions", that she "is a great comedienne" and "an actor who alone fills the stage". Dagens Nyheter continues: "When Sissela Kyle talks about and portrays her mother's life, fate and work, it is nothing short of magnificent". The performance comes to Slagthusets Teater on 7 March!
My performance about mum', which premiered in October, is a funny and moving monologue about Sissela's mother Gunhild Kyle. She was brilliant, funny, dark and a pioneer in women's studies. Now it is clear that the tour will be extended in 2026 with more performances.
- It is so much fun to meet the audience with the story of mum and her time. Many people who see the show go home and talk about their mothers and what they experienced, says Sissela Kyle and continues:
- Gunhild was a pioneer in the field of women's history research, and I am telling her story and presenting her path both in a deeply personal way and from the perspective of social development. It is wonderful to hear the laughter and the concentrated silence in the theatre. I have never been so proud of anything I have done.
