This section recounts the building’s fascinating history dating back to 1920, when Löfberg, the director of a glass and porcelain company, opened the doors to his cinema and concert hall. It was here, for example, that Carola made her breakthrough with ‘Främling’ in the 1983 Melodifestivalen, whilst Jussi Björling, Alice Babs and Helan and Halvan have also graced the stage. Following renovation, the building was reopened in 2004 as a venue for music and dance, and activities now continue under the management of the cultural organiser Next Events.
Much of the original interior remains to this day, such as the impressive crystal chandeliers, the ceiling paintings and the Golden Foyer.
Perfect for anyone who wants to combine culture, history and architecture with a unique experience in Malmö.
Please note: Some areas are not accessible to those who require a lift.
