Malmö Stadsteater's vision is to use dramatic theatre to pave the way for greater inclusion and community in Malmö. We want to raise questions and create dialogue about art and the society we live in.
Malmö Stadsteaters is located at Kalendegatan 12c near the central station and Stortorget in the centre of Malmö. Major theatre productions are performed here on the beautiful Hippodrome stage, under the classic circus dome of the old pleasure palace from 1899. After extensive renovation, the building was reopened in spring 2023. It houses two theatres, a café and a studio for creative activities.
In the Theatre Café, Malmö Stadsteater offers coffee and lunch, as well as simple bistro dishes on the evenings we play theatre performances.
Malmö Stadsteater also includes the Intiman stage at Östra Rönneholmsvägen 22, behind Malmö Opera.
