Ekin Kuzukiran, a violinist and postgraduate student at the Malmö Academy of Music, is giving an exciting solo recital at the Palladium entitled ‘Samtal över epoker’ or ‘Dialogue across Eras’.

This graduation recital marks the culmination of several years of study and explores the violin’s ever-changing expressive range through a programme that combines classical depth with the spirit of the 20th century.

The programme centres on two key figures in the world of the violin: Ludwig van Beethoven and Sergei Prokofiev. Their music highlights a fascinating contrast between different musical eras and styles.

The evening highlights the stylistic shift between Beethoven’s passionate and dialogic musical language and Prokofiev’s characteristic 20th-century aesthetic, characterised by driving rhythms, sharp wit and an almost cinematic lyricism. To complement these significant sonatas, solo works from various periods are also presented, further highlighting the violin’s rich world of expression and timbre.

A rich and varied concert experience that reflects both musical development and a multifaceted repertoire – and which offers the audience an insight into how different eras have shaped the voice of the violin.

Ekin Kuzukıran (violin) studied at Åbo Akademi University and the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg. Her former teachers include Øyvor Volle and Alexander Vinnitsky. Kuzukıran made her solo debut in 2021 with the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra and has also performed with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra. Alongside her studies at the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra Academy, she is also pursuing a diploma course at the Malmö Academy of Music under Professor Erik Heide, which will now culminate in a performance of Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s Violin Concerto with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.
