Henrik Hjelt – AT LAST! 30 years on stage. 0 lectures. 100% stand-up.
It all began in 1996 on a small stage in a market hall in Uppsala. The fee was food, but Henrik Hjelt found something far more valuable: a spark he has never wanted to let go of. Since then, he has become a leading figure in Swedish comedy – as the lightning-quick panellist on *Parlamentet*, in acclaimed TV series and major musical productions. But more often than not, he has been part of an ensemble or confined to a fixed format.
Now he’s stripping it all away.
On his first major solo tour, Henrik returns to his roots. He swaps the costumes and scripted characters for honesty and the unique timing that has made him a crowd favourite across the country. This is Henrik Hjelt at his most stripped-back – a stress test of the self, where the material takes shape in the room, together with you, the audience.
– Stand-up comedy is the ultimate stress test for oneself. It’s an art form that’s simple in its structure but extremely difficult to perform. I want to recapture that feeling of nerves that I’ve experienced so many times, in Uppsala 30 years ago and now, says Henrik Hjelt.
Welcome to an evening filled with laughter, warm self-deprecation and moments you’ll really relate to. It’s not a film, it’s not TV – it’s Henrik Hjelt, live, right here and now. Just as it should be when it’s at its best.
