Following last year’s acclaimed performance, Dan Hylander and his band are returning to Slagthusets Teater – this time to perform the entire album “…about angels and jackals” from start to finish. He’ll once again be joined on stage by Py Bäckman as a guest!
The album, which is Hylanders’ greatest success, features classic hits such as “Shadows at Dusk” and “Black Coffee”. As well as the album, the audience will of course also be treated to more musical gems from their long career together.
Dan Hylander is regarded as one of Sweden’s most influential songwriters and artists. His big breakthrough came in the early 1980s alongside the Raj Montana Band and Py Bäckman, and he has since left his mark on Swedish music history with iconic albums such as *September*, “Calypso” and “Bella Notte”. During the 1990s, he successfully transitioned to writing and producing music for others, including Totta Näslund, Tomas Ledin and Björn Skifs.
Py Bäckman is a lyrical force in the Swedish music scene, known for her powerful lyrics in songs such as ‘Stad i ljus’, ‘Gabriellas sång’ and ‘Koppången’. She has made a name for herself both as a solo artist and through her collaboration with the Raj Montana Band, and has also written for other artists and contributed to the Swedish hymn book – always with an ability to capture the spirit of the Swedish welfare state in her lyrics.
It was in 1984 that the best-selling, platinum-selling album “…om änglar och sjakaler” was released, and this spring we’ll have the chance to experience it live.
