Concert: Melody Club + Diskopunk | Slagthuset

After a decade of silence, Melody Club – the iconic band that left its mark on the music scene of the 2000s with its synth-driven pop-rock – is now making a comeback. In 2025, they returned to the live stage to meet loyal fans and new generations. Now it’s finally Malmö’s turn to relive their rousing hits live as the band takes to the stage at Slagthuset on Saturday 29 August! This isn’t just a comeback – it’s a triumphant celebration of the band’s legacy and timeless hits. To mark the occasion, powerhouse act Diskopunk will also be joining them as the support act!

The band created an unmistakable sound that combined influences from 1980s synth and new wave with modern pop melodies. The band’s name itself was a promise of what they wanted to create – songs filled with melodies that not only stuck in your head, but became part of the listeners’ lives.

Her debut album *Music Machine*, released in 2002, proved to be a milestone, and the singles “Electric” and “Palace Station” quickly became favourites on both the radio and the dance floor. This breakthrough was followed by further tracks such as “Covergirl”, “Baby (Stand Up)”, ‘Boys in the Girls Room’ and ‘Destiny Calling’, which cemented their position as one of Sweden’s most exciting musical exports of that period. Tours took them beyond Sweden’s borders, and they reached an international audience, particularly in countries such as Germany, Japan and the UK.
