Christmas in the City

At Christmas time, Malmö City is filled with festive cheer. Christmas markets await at Gustav Adolfs Torg and Malmö Central Station, the Christmas lights illuminate the streets and the shops are decked out for Christmas. The scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds fills the air, and there is plenty to discover for young and old alike.

Here we’ve brought together everything to do with Christmas in the city centre, from Christmas markets and activities to festive experiences, opening hours and practical information. The page is updated regularly, so keep an eye out for more tips on how to enjoy Christmas in Malmö city centre!

Gustav Adolfs Torg Christmas Market

Welcome to this year’s Christmas market at Gustav Adolfs torg, which is open every Thursday to Sunday from 26 November to 20 December.

At the Christmas Market, you can shop for handmade Christmas gifts from a variety of local and regional exhibitors. The range of exhibitors may vary from weekend to weekend. Some will be there for the whole Christmas market and others may only be there for a weekend or two. This is so that we can offer a wide range of products and that there is something for all visitors!

Welcome to the Christmas market at Gustav Adolfs torg!

From 26 November to 20 December, you’ll find us in the square every Thursday to Sunday.

Discover local and regional crafts and find personalised Christmas presents. The exhibitors vary from weekend to weekend, so there’s always something new to discover and something for everyone!

The market is open 11:00-18:00 all four Advent holidays:

The 26–29 November We’ll be filling Malmö Central Station with Christmas spirit, local crafts and delicious treats. Do pop in, find some lovely Christmas presents and enjoy everything that makes Christmas special! Over four days, you can discover crafts and treats from local and regional exhibitors, listen to live music and perhaps even get a visit from Father Christmas himself.

Eslöv Vinegar

Handcrafted vinegars and balsamic vinegars from Eslöv, produced in small batches using natural ingredients and featuring exciting flavours. An award-winning Swedish artisan food producer, having won two silver and one bronze medal at the Swedish Artisan Food Championships in 2024, and two silver medals in 2025.

Eva-Lena Malmros

Handmade jewellery where traditional craftsmanship meets creative design. Freshwater pearls, glass, metal, porcelain and ceramics are combined to create unique pieces of jewellery in a variety of shapes, materials and styles.

Handmade by Stina S

Small-scale artisan food products from Ottarps Torp, including stone-ground Skåne mustard, milk- and nut-free chocolate spread, and coarse sourdough bread. The products are made with care, using Swedish, local ingredients wherever possible.
