Beyond Retro
Hos Beyond Retro at Triangeln, second hand is not just about clothes, but about personality, sustainability and giving garments a new life. The store combines colour, vintage and a carefully selected range that differs from the newly produced fashion.
We have spoken to the store manager Sofia Siöland about the vision behind the shop, how they work with sustainability and why second hand continues to attract more and more customers.
Bus seed
Hos Bus seed second hand is more than just recycling, it's about finding unique garments, creating personal style and experiencing little gems in everyday life. We talked to Marie Thoft, Store Manager at Busfrö on Södra Förstadsgatan, about how they work with assortment, customer contact and why second hand gives freedom of expression.
SwopShop
Hos SwopShop second hand is about rethinking. Here, clothes are given new life through a circular system where customers both return and find new favourites.
The founders Jane Olsson started the business with a simple idea: why wait for a clothes swap event when there can be a place for it every day? Today, the store is part of a growing movement where reuse, knowledge and community are at the centre, with the goal of making second hand the obvious first choice.
A Piece Lux
At A Piece Lux, it all started with a clear realisation that there was a demand for carefully selected second-hand garments in the luxury segment. With a background in children's clothing and an eye for quality, a business was built where each garment is chosen with care.
The store offers unique brands, a high level of personalised service and a feeling reminiscent of shopping for something new, but with a more conscious choice at its core. It's not just about fashion, but about the experience, the feeling and finding something that really feels right.
FAB Studio
Hos FAB Studio in Malmö, style, community and a genuine interest in second hand meet. The store manager Filippa Nielsen has, together with founder My Johanessen, built a shop where clothes are sold on commission and each garment gets a chance to find the right owner.
It's not about consuming more, but about consuming smarter. With a focus on quality, personalised style and sustainability, the store has become a natural meeting place in the city, where customers inspire each other and find new ways to express themselves through clothes.
Relove & More
At Relove & More, second hand is about more than recycling. It's a place where creativity, community and history meet.
The shop is run by Louise Johnsson Zea and Helena Karatas, who have built the business from scratch using almost exclusively recycled materials. Here, both objects and people are given new life, and the shop has grown into a meeting place where customers return, are inspired and become part of something bigger.
With a focus on quality, unique finds and personal stories, the aim is to create a place where everyone feels welcome and where second hand becomes a natural part of everyday life.
City Mission Secondhand
Stadsmissionen Secondhand has grown out of over 110 years of caring, and store manager Jessica Åberg describes a business where every gift is given new life and every purchase makes a real difference. She is driven by the vision of creating stores where sustainability feels both inspiring and accessible, where the customer leaves with both great finds and a clear conscience. Here you don't just shop second hand; you become part of a circular cycle that supports people in need. Jessica also sees how more and more people want to consume smarter and more creatively, and promises those who are new to the second-hand world: "you're in for a treat!"
Ropas Secondhand
For Nataly Tapia, it all started with a passion for second hand and a desire to create something of her own. Today she runs a shop in Malmö where the focus is on quality, personal expression and carefully selected styles from the 90s and Y2K.
Here, second hand is not just about shopping sustainably, but about finding your own style for real. With garments from different eras, customers have the opportunity to create something unique, beyond trends and mass production. At the same time, the aim is to make second-hand more accessible and inspire more people to take the plunge.
For textiles, reuse is about six times better for the climate per kilogram of product compared to recycling.
Facts taken from IVL
For every person in Europe, the consumption of new textiles per year requires about 400 m² of land, 9 m³ of water and 391 kg of raw materials.
Facts taken from IVL
Although the second-hand market is growing, the reuse of textiles still only represents 5-7 per cent of total new purchases.
